Been forever since I last updated. Actually, not much changed until recently. I found out a family member recently decided to move forward with getting a cochlear implant this year. In his particular case, he's planning on looking into a hybrid cochlear implant to preserve his residual hearing.
His residual hearing is actually better than mine. I am curious to see how much better the cochlear implant would be for him in areas of speech perception. He is obviously excited about the possibilities.
It's a big step. But, it'll be interesting to see how it all goes.
